Refer-A-Friend/Send-to-a-Friend email option

Has anyone done a refer-a-friend or send-to-a-friend in their marketing campaigns within Iterable? I run a content based website that we want to make it easier for subscribers to share our email content while being able to track. Any suggestions?

Dynamic Content Based on Email Lists

I am trying to dynamically populate a banner in an email based on a subscriber's "emailListIds" field, which appears to be available as a field within the email, but I can't seem to get the logic to cooperate. Is this a possible field to use in this way? If not, is it being considered as an option? TIA!

Filtering non-U.S. contacts

Has anyone ever filtered non-U.S. users and know of a best practice on how to do it? Thinking of ways to prevent emailing uses in Europe to avoid having to deal with GDPR regulations since we don't really offer any services outside of the U.S.

Text Editor color picker issue

Hello! First time poster here - I was encouraged by our CSM to share this for an upvote, so here goes: Using the drag/drop editor, we've recently had multiple instances where we want to match a text color. However if you select the text of the color you're trying to match, then select the color picker from the text editor toolbar, it doesn't show you what color that text is - it always shows #000000. The text color on the right under content properties isn't the right color either. It'd be great (and I'm fairly certain it used to work this way before some recent updates to the text editor toolbar) that it would show the color of the selected text in the color picker. Example screen shot here - selected text was green, but color picker shows black:

Any luck with dynamically populating several products in one row?

As seen in my photos here, trying to get three products to populate in one row using a collection, but only able to return 3 rows of 1 product per row, repeated 3 times. Curious if anyone has or knows the logic to make this populate properly? TIA!

Seed List Test: 0 Recipients

Hi there. I have a seed list that was generated from MailMonitor, and I was successfully able to import it into Iterable; it has 221 users, which is correct. However, when I try to send a test message targeting that list, it tells me there are 0 recipients. Is there some setting that I'm missing? Am I forgetting a step in the process? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Triggering Workflows via UserID?

Right now, Iterable doesn't allow for triggering of a workflow via UserID. You can only trigger a workflow with an email or a ListID (https://api.iterable.com/api/docs#workflows_triggerWorkflow) We would absolutely love triggering a workflow with a UserID since a lot of our services don't have access to email.

Updating email addresses

We are looking for a way to update users email addresses so that we do not have two profiles in the system. If a user updates their email address currently it creates a new account in Iterable and we could end up emailing two account.

Send Skips

Is there a way to force an email or SMS send skip? I have some users making it into a workflow I'm designing and the filters won't catch them because the filters can't do advanced conditional logic so I'm forced to put it in the template.

How are apples new privacy updates going to effect Iterable email tracking

Sure everyone has seen that Apple will be blocking the tracking pixel that is used by email providers to gather open and location data. If not more info here: https://techcrunch.com/2021/06/07/apple-wwdc-2021-privacy-security/ Would be good to understand how Iterable are planning to solve this?

In-App Messages Mobile Inbox Persistence Issue?

We have an open support thread with Iterable about this but I want to see if others are experiencing this issue. We are using the Mobile Inbox feature but having issues with messages not persisting at all. Here's an example: However, when I then go to query the user's inbox via `/api/inApp/getMessages` the message isn't there. Note how `saveToInbox=true` so it should be persisted to the Inbox. We don't allow the user to delete an inbox message nor is there any kind of delete event on the in-app. You'll see that the message doesn't expire until 6/17 so the message should still be in the inbox. The complicating factor to this is that it only repros for a subset of our users (doesn't matter if they're on iOS or Android). Has anyone else run into this before and have any workarounds?

Parsing a string with Handlebars?

Hi everyone, I have a custom event that contains a property formatted like so: `fullpath: /string-1/string-2/string-3/string-4` I was wondering if there is a way to use Handlebars helpers to splice this string, and return the last substring ('string-4') in a template? Google Analytics tracking codes not appending to URLs

Hi all, I'm an Iterable newb. I have just built a blast message and when I send a proof, the Google Analytics parameters aren't appending to some of my URLs. GA is set up in the message and is appending to some of the links but not all of them. Is there something I've done that may be causing this? Thanks in advance!

Export events for more then 1 user

Currently, the Iterable API affords export events per user, per request. it will be helpful to have the option to export events for more than 1 user using the API. Besides the API event export - I thought to add the CSV exporting option not just to specify the user attributes, but also allow to select events to export, too. Thanks

While export CSV from a segment, the name of the file is " list -- xx-xx-xx.csv" (x's refer to date) - is it possible to control the naming?

Password Reset Emails

We're having an internal discussion about password reset emails. The current design has a button the user can click and we also show the pretty long, tokenized version of the link in plain text so the customer can copy/paste the link in their browser. Some want to remove the plain text and just show the button. Some have suggested that we shorten the link a la bit.ly, but that seems wrong and less transparent, as visibility was the goal of showing the plain text link to begin with. What is the best practice? Leave only the button and ditch the link or keep both? Thanks!

TIP: How to skip campaign for some users without engineering team?

We just moved from Braze to Iterable and have been re-thinking some of our messaging practices due to the new service. In Braze we used quite heavily a feature called "abort". Whit it, you could write if-else statements into the message body and prevent the message to be sent to specific users. For example: `if (customer has made the first purchase) {send this email} else {abort}` This was really handy as it allows us (the marketing team) to fully control the message flow without always bothering our engineering team. With Iterable, or to be more specific, with Handlebars, you do not have that option. We found a way around this limitation. We created a snippet that causes an error and therefore skips the message sending to that specific user. The snippet looks like this: `{{#lookup invalid as |invalid|}}{{/lookup}}` We call it "skip". This is how we used it in a push campaign: `{{#ifGt cityOffering.portionsAvailableNow 80}}` You have `{{credits.amountInUserCurrency}}` worth of c

Email error when saving

Hey all! having some issues saving an email, the error attached below keeps coming up when I save. The email contains handlebars and all the links/text has been double checked and works...but my email isn't saving. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

SMS Message Blackout times?

Hello! Are there any best practices for how to ensure that SMS messages don't get sent out in the middle of the night? From Twilio: As a general rule, don't send messages before 9 am or after 9 pm. Your provider should be able to automatically deliver your messages to your audience at the right time in the right time zone. Our SMS workflows are triggered based on custom events, and we send texts out in real-time. However, if a custom event occurs after 9PM, is there a way to: - check the user's local time - if their local time is between 9 am - 9 pm, send the text - if their local time is between 9:01 pm - 8:59 am, delay the text until 9AM the next day Thanks!
