I'm always so impressed by all the different diving competitions! Not only by the distance people dive but the spins and tricks that happen along the way.
Gymnastics and swimming! It's amazing to watch how fast and smooth they go through the water.
I always look forward to watching gymnastics, because it's really amazing how talented gymnasts are! I also like to watch cycling.
I love the combination of strength and artistry that gymnastics brings to the Olympics.
My favorite olympic sport is tennis. I especially love to watch a really long high stakes match between two highly ranked players. Second would be swimming. Races are fun to watch and the swimmers look so elegant gliding through the water.
Figure skating for winter Olympics...speed walking for summer - can't believe this is a professional sport
All the athletes are amazing to watch but gymnastics is always my favorite.
Swimming or diving. No offense to volleyball, but those games are longggg!
Women's volleyball! Three former Nebraska Cornhuskers made the first team for the USA and we are cheering them on! Another former player is on the Canadian beach team. Swimming events come in second since we were involved in the sport with our daughter, and were able to volunteer when the Olympic trials first came to Omaha. The venue they set up is completely amazing! Coming in third (bronze medal if you will) are the equestrian dressage events. It boggles my mind how they can train the horses to do all those fancy steps. It's kind of mesmerizing to watch.
Track and Field is the best!
I LOVE watching gymnastics and diving, but this year I'm also really looking forward to watching women's basketball! I went to high school with one of the players, and it's so cool seeing someone you've known on the world stage like that!
Gymnastics is my all time favorite, but I've been super duper excited about this year's new additions. Surfing and Skateboarding were pretty neat and I'm interested to see how climbing goes.
I'm really excited that they added "climbing" and am definitely most excited to watch that. I love gymnastics and synchronized diving too
Gymnastics 100%, I was a competitive gymnast for 10+ years, and used to coach on and off for several years during and after. If you can teach a kid gymnastics, you can train anyone! I also love watching diving.
I started swimming competitively in my younger years (age 7) so I am always a fan of watching Men and Women's swimming. Katie Ledechy is my favorite right now for the female team. I miss the Michael Phelps era of men's swimming.
I love watching USWNT soccer, too!
Water polo! We used to play water polo in a college PE class except we floated on innertubes and it was a blast. I led the class in goals... I got really good at skipping the ball on the water and splashing the goalie in the face, haha. Plus those Olympians who can tread water and stay afloat for long periods of time... that looks super hard.
@Ryan Glanzer The visual of using floaties to play water polo is cracking me up, thanks for the Monday laugh!
All of the athletes are in incredible shape but the swimmers really blow my mind!
This year my favorite sport by far has been skateboarding its a new sport to the Olympics but it was interesting to see. It is so interesting how something that was considered a hobby for teens is now an Olympic sport.
Oh my - I love to watch diving! As someone that doesn't even like to jump from the side of the pool, the heights that they jump are astounding!
Definitely the mens and womens gymnastics. The stakes just seem so high; I can feel the crushing disappointment when they don't stick a landing or slip
I haven't been a big fan of sports or olympics, to be honest. Growing up I had a big complex of not being good at any sports. My first PE teacher was this really mean lady who loved to scream at us for "motivation".
If I had to pick one I would definitely pick Gymnastics.
I love Simone Biles, and I loved the german team showing up to qualifications wearing full leotards to promote freedom of choice.
It's all about the track and field events for me. Watching the sheer strength and determination on each athlete's face makes this event a win every time.
I'm really not v into the Olympics, but when I was a kid I really liked watching ice skating.
Love the excitement of the swim races, especially this year with a few unexpected wins! Also excited to see skating, climbing and surfing enter as olympic sports.
