As the next step in our process to improve UserID support across the Iterable platform, all of our API endpoints that require a user parameter now also accept UserID - in addition to email. This new option will:Minimize security risk by removing the need to pass email (PII)Streamline implementation for customers who commonly leverage UserID in their own internal systemsProvide more flexibility with APIs in IterableThings to know:All API endpoints that reference a user now accept UserID or email.You can choose whether to pass email or userID.If you pass both values in the request, the system will prioritize email and discard the UserID.Current projects do not enforce uniqueness on UserID, so it's possible that your project may have duplicate UserIDs. If this is the case and UserID is passed in an API request, we will take action on the first user profile returned with that UserID. If a project includes duplicate UserIDs, we recommend passing email to ensure the right user is updated via

We are excited to announce that we’re rolling out a new version of our User Profile, the page in Iterable where you view and manage data about a particular user. We’re introducing a fresh new look and several enhancements to make it easier than ever to understand and manage your users. This release will roll out to our entire customer base over the next few weeks, starting on Monday, 5/9. Once it’s enabled in your account, you will automatically see it when you navigate to any user profile. Hello and happy Wednesday! Next week on Tuesday the 26th, our legacy Foundations learning path will be retired and replaced with a brand new Foundations path that will have new content and reflect the changes in our Iterable application from the last year. We will also be launching a Foundations Certification Exam, where, upon successful completion, you'll be Foundations Certified and can post your badge to LinkedIn. This has been a huge, year long project for our team and we are so excited for you to see this new experience! The following is an update to the previously-announced scheduled maintenance starting on Thursday, April 14, 2022. We will be performing maintenance on our backend infrastructure that may result in downtime for some portion or all of each cluster’s two-hour maintenance windows.For a portion of the maintenance window, user update and event ingestion will be paused, as well as Journey (formerly Workflow) and messaging processing. Once maintenance is completed, ingestion, Journey, and messaging processing will resume for all backlogged items.Important: There may be brief periods of 5xx errors for some API endpoints during your maintenance window. These should be retried if encountered.Please note, if you have purchased Catalog, there will be an additional two-hour maintenance window and potential downtime on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 6:10-8:10 am PDT. This update impacts ALL templates created via the Drag-and-Drop Editor. We hope you’ve had the opportunity to test the upgraded Drag and Drop editor before it fully transitions on May 9, 2022. There’s nothing like being on there, creating and testing to really get a feel for the new editor. The updated editor, uses the newest version of BEE, which offers several improvements to your experience:Faster design renderingReduced output file sizeSimpler, cleaner HTML outputWider email client compatibility, including reduced Gmail clippingIf you have not yet upgraded or unsure if you already have,  we strongly encourage contacting your CSMs,  so you can understand the impact of these changes before it permanently rolls out on May 9. The updated editor uses the newest version of BEE, which offers several improvements over the previous version:Faster design renderingReduced output file sizeSimpler, cleaner HTML outputWider email client compatibility, including reduced Gmail clippingThis update will only apply to templates you create or update using the new drag-and-drop editor. We encourage all Iterable customers to start using the new editor and test end-to-end to understand the impact of these changes (particularly if you want to take advantage of smaller file outputs and reduced Gmail clipping).We’ve also enabled Mobile Design Mode, which makes it easier for you to build and preview mobile-forward emails.
