Hello Iterable Community,

We’re upgrading the BEE drag-and-drop editor to make it even easier for you to build emails and in-app messages in Iterable. The updated editor uses the newest version of BEE, which offers several improvements over the previous version:

  • Faster design rendering

  • Reduced output file size

  • Simpler, cleaner HTML output

  • Wider email client compatibility, including reduced Gmail clipping

This update will only apply to templates you create or update using the new drag-and-drop editor. We encourage all Iterable customers to start using the new editor and test end-to-end to understand the impact of these changes (particularly if you want to take advantage of smaller file outputs and reduced Gmail clipping).

We’ve also enabled Mobile Design Mode, which makes it easier for you to build and preview mobile-forward emails. We’ve also added several new drag-and-drop content blocks: Title, Paragraph, List, Space Divider, and Emoji Picker.

Key Dates:

  • Now- You can sign up to request early access to the new BEE editor in the coming weeks

  • End of April - The original plan communicated was to GA the updated editor as the default March 21, but based on the early feedback we are extending this timeline. We are looking at end of April for a new timeline, and will confirm the date very soon.

Kyle Turcotte for the in-app are you able to lock down content colours etc.?

Or is this just an improvement to how the BEE editor works not really the advanced features that would be nice to have

Mobile design mode! Yaaaay!

Adrian Gray We aren't adding content default settings at this time, however, it's something we are considering for the future!

Kyle Turcotte, thanks for the info! I'm new to Iterable (coming from HubSpot), and am wondering about features such as auto-save, undo, and redo. More specifically, I'm not seeing the ability of the platform to auto-save changes to a template you're working on, as well as the ability to undo or redo changes you just made. Please let me know what your thoughts are on these items.

Jason Rychter Welcome to the Iterable community and thanks for the feedback! These are not yet committed on the roadmap but are something we are looking into and exploring. We'll keep this under consideration as we prioritize template optimizations.

Kyle Turcotte, thanks for following up and the warm welcome! It's great to be here. Looking forward to hearing from you in the future on when these will become available.

Will there be the option to create Send SMS Buttons with pre-populated response messages? Currently the only way to do them is custom HTML.

Hi Kevin Bazinet , The current work does not include this in scope, but something we are definitely considering for the future!

With this switch from DIVs to TABLE tags will the Tables be appended with "role=presentation" so that they are more easily read by screen readers?

Kevin Bazinet Thank you for this suggestion. We will share this request with our partners at BEE, for their upcoming roadmap consideration. We will also consider this as we look at future Template optimizations.

To confirm, it sounds like you want to add function to "Send SMS" link type to support pre-populated response messages within. Is that correct?

Ben Edwards Thanks for the question. We will look deeper into this question and let you know.

Ben Edwards I can confirm that all of the tables will have the

role=presentation

Kevin Bazinet are you able to share an example of the custom HTML solution work around you are using currently for Send SMS with response buttons?
