Frequently Asked Questions

Select a category below to explore technical details, feature prerequisites, and setup guidance for the Fall 2026 Product Release.

1. Launch Overview & Release Timeline ▸
What is the core theme of the Fall 2026 Product Release?
Our Fall 2026 theme is "Go Beyond Orchestration: Turn Connected Context into Compounding Intelligence." This release focuses on bridging system data gaps, helping your team seamlessly connect ecosystem context into intelligent, dynamic campaigns that continuously drive growth.
When do these features become available in my account?
Features go live starting September 24, 2026. Additional tools like Monitoring Agent roll out starting September 30. Join our live "What’s New" Webinar on October 1st for hands-on demos and live Q&A.
2. Connected Data & Ecosystem Integration ▸
Integrations Hub & Salesforce Sync
What is the Integrations Hub and how is it enabled?
The Integrations Hub is a centralized marketplace inside your project account where teams can discover, configure, and monitor integrations natively. It is a core platform feature available to all customers at no additional cost.
How does the Salesforce Sync integration operate?
Salesforce Sync currently supports Data-In inbound scheduled synchronization from Salesforce to Iterable for Contacts, Leads, Accounts, Cases, and custom objects. Data updates can be configured to sync automatically on schedules as frequent as every 15 minutes.
How does Salesforce Sync handle updates to existing profiles?
During each polling cycle, Salesforce Sync matches records based on mapped primary identifiers (e.g., email or userId). Changed attributes update existing user fields, while new records are ingested as new profiles.
Catalog in Segmentation
How does Catalog in Segmentation work, and what are its limits?
It allows marketers to query non-user business metadata stored in Catalog (e.g., inventory, store locations, account tiers) directly within the Segmentation builder to generate Scheduled Lists (refreshed daily on a 24-hour cadence). Limits include up to 10 active Scheduled Lists per project, 1 million users per list, and subqueries returning up to 10,000 catalog items.
Do I need Iterable Catalog to use Catalog in Segmentation?
Catalog in Segmentation requires Iterable Catalog, which is available as a paid add-on. For more details on pricing and packaging, reach out to an Iterable account representative today.
Do I need to add Catalog data to customer profiles?
No. Marketers can use Catalog metadata for segmentation without recreating that data across customer profiles. This helps reduce profile bloat and ongoing data maintenance while still providing the business context needed to build more relevant audiences.
What kind of business data can I use from Catalog?
Catalog can store business data such as products, services, locations, and other information that marketers can use for personalization and targeting. With Catalog in Segmentation, that data can also inform audience creation alongside customer profile data.
Journeys Live Data
What is Journeys Live Data?
Journeys Live Data brings current data from external APIs into a journey in real time, so the journey can adapt or personalize messages based on what’s true now. The data can remain temporary, so teams can use fast-changing context without permanently storing it on the customer profile.
When should I use Journeys Live Data to build dynamic, personalized journeys?
Use Journeys Live Data when your journey needs current information from an external system to determine what happens next or personalize the customer experience. It’s especially useful when that context can change quickly and the journey needs to adapt based on what’s true now.
Does data retrieved with Journeys Live Data get stored on the customer profile?
Not by default. Live Data can remain temporary unless a marketer chooses to write it to the customer profile.
What happens if an API call in Journeys Live Data times out?
Journeys Live Data includes automated fallback handling. You can define specific fallback branches in Journeys Studio so recipients still receive personalized messaging using existing profile attributes if an external API endpoint fails to respond in time.
How is Journeys Live Data packaged and priced?
Journeys Live Data is included as a core Iterable Journeys capability and does not require an additional SKU or add-on.
Data Sync
What performance improvements are included with Data Sync?
Our latency enhancements accelerate cloud data warehouse exports (BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, S3, SFTP) from 6–12 hour processing delays down to 1–3 hours. Requires the Data Sync Add-On.
3. Interactive Mobile Messaging ▸
RCS Messaging
What is Rich Communication Services (RCS) and when is it available?
RCS Business Messaging brings app-like experiences (branding, image carousels, action buttons, verified badges) directly to native phone messaging. It is Generally Available starting September 24, 2026 as a mobile channel add-on.
How is RCS different from SMS?
RCS offers verified branding, rich media, carousels, buttons, suggested replies, and interactive conversations without requiring customers to download another app.
What do I need to get started with RCS?
You’ll need to register a verified RCS sender profile (a standard 3–5 week onboarding process requiring verified brand assets and compliance submission) and reach customers on supported carriers and devices (Android and iOS 18+) with RCS Business Messaging enabled. You also have access to our Iterable Academy course.
Does RCS automatically fall back to SMS?
No. Automated channel fallback isn’t included at launch. If a device doesn’t support RCS, you’ll need to create a separate fallback journey using another channel in Journeys Studio.
WhatsApp Messaging
Who is Iterable’s WhatsApp for?
Iterable’s WhatsApp offering is built for brands engaging customers across 180+ international markets, particularly EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. Global markets support Marketing, Utility, and Service messaging. Note: Meta policy restricts marketing campaigns to US phone numbers via WhatsApp (Utility and Service messaging permitted).
How is Iterable’s WhatsApp priced?
Iterable’s WhatsApp offering is available as an add-on, with per-message pricing based on destination country and message type (Marketing, Utility, Service). Reach out to your account representative to learn more.
Can marketers personalize WhatsApp messages?
Yes. Marketers can use the customer data and context already in Iterable to personalize WhatsApp messages with relevant offers, recommendations, updates, and content. This helps make each interaction more relevant and more likely to drive engagement and action.
Mobile Preferences & Governance
How are opt-outs and subscriptions managed across SMS, RCS, and WhatsApp?
Each mobile channel manages preferences natively. In addition to SMS keywords (STOP), RCS and WhatsApp offer interactive in-chat opt-out buttons. Unsubscribing on RCS or WhatsApp updates that channel preference independently without altering email or standard SMS settings unless globally configured.
Do rich mobile channels share traditional SMS contact frequency limits?
Channel frequency caps apply independently by default. However, cross-channel mobile Frequency Caps can be enabled in Project Settings to cap combined touches across SMS, RCS, and WhatsApp within a rolling timeframe.
4. Agentic AI & Campaign Intelligence ▸
How does Monitoring Agent work, and does it edit my campaigns automatically?
Launching September 30, Monitoring Agent diagnoses campaign performance anomalies and provides actionable inline recommendations in your homepage Campaign Alerts panel. It utilizes a strict Human-In-The-Loop model—it never alters live campaigns automatically without explicit team review and approval.
What analytics enhancements are included in this release?
Analytics Agent expands natural-language reporting across multi-campaign, channel, label, and conversion metrics. Open and click metrics now feature automatic bot-filtering by default to ensure clean, accurate reporting.
Who on my team can review and approve Monitoring Agent recommendations?
All team members with campaign view permissions can see performance alerts. Executing or applying recommended fixes in Nova requires standard Campaign Edit/Publish permissions to maintain governance.
Is customer campaign data used to train public AI models?
No. All Agentic AI features run within isolated, enterprise-grade pipelines. Your brand data, customer events, and performance metrics are strictly private and never used to train public LLM models.
5. Cross-Channel Workflows & Examples ▸
How can Journeys Live Data and interactive mobile channels be combined?
You can use Journeys Live Data to fetch real-time external data (such as live account status or local inventory) right before dispatch, then use Journey decision splits to route users to RCS, WhatsApp, or SMS—passing the real-time payload directly into dynamic message templates.
Can Catalog items be populated into RCS carousels or WhatsApp templates?
Yes! Catalog items can be referenced directly using standard Handlebars variables inside RCS and WhatsApp templates to build dynamic product carousels, action buttons, and personalized message content at send-time.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
"SMS is getting harder to win in. Inboxes are crowded, carrier filtering is tightening, and smishing has trained consumers to distrust unknown numbers. RCS gives us a verified sender identity, our logo, and our brand name at the top of the thread, so the message is recognizably Fabletics before it is read. In a channel where legitimacy is the barrier to engagement, verified branding is a deliverability and conversion asset, not just a design upgrade."
