I am a huge fan of Clean up camp and Rework the journeys. Our team manages all customer journeys, campaigns/messaging, logic, etc. and other cross-functional teams are constantly asking for the latest source of truth. We have a robust documentation in Confluence with all of these details. However, with the changes and experimentation done over time, it requires us to keep it updated regularly. Summer is a great time to really dig through our documentation and existing journeys to clean up any legacy information and make it as clear as possible for other team members to get the latest information of what is live. 


Recently coming out of 🎯 Sharpen my skills I had the pleasure of attending some leadership programs, AI trainings, and Iterable’s Activate summit. With these new ideas and skills, taking learnings back to the team and having several working and brainstorming sessions to sharpen our skills and roadmap what’s ahead. Now we’re transitioning into 🧹 Clean up camp. It’s out with the old and in with the new! Lots of new automations, cleaning up naming conventions, tagging, reporting and creating a clean, clear, and understandable baseline to refine processes to really hone in 🚀 Prep for peak later this summer!

The "source of truth" struggle is so real when you're managing all the customer touchpoints. Clean up camp actually sets you up perfectly for Rework the journey - once you have that clear documentation foundation, it's way easier to spot optimization opportunities in your flows. Summer's lighter campaign load is definitely the sweet spot for this kind of work!


  • 🧹 Clean up camp for me! We recently unlocked the ability to automate pulling in content into our messages. We’ve tested this out and while we need to continue to iterate, the results have been promising. This summer I want to audit all of our set-and-forget types of messages and replace any stale, outdated content with an automated content module that pulls in the newest published articles without any manual curation. This will help us ensure we’re always showing new content in messages that we might otherwise have forgotten to refresh!
