So we're wanting to try catalog out, but only if it's able to pull items based on id numbers passed by the triggering Custom Event.

For example:

Custom Event: shopItemViewed

with shopItemViewed.recommedProductId[array]

and we want to use Catalog in an email where we use the "recommendProductId" to bring in the properties of that matching CatalogKey item (like price, name, etc.)

Has anyone been able to do something like that?

Would storing the custom event field array as a contact property on the user profile be something that you would consider doing?

If so, that wouldn't be too hard to implement and get set up with catalog.

If trying to do a 1 to 1 custom event field to reference catalog and/or collection is what you are trying to do, I think it would best if you create a support ticket with support@iterable.com and we can clarify the details on your use case and see if it is possible.
