I love that Oreo example
@Lauren Benner
I'm vegan (btw so are oreos - That's a fun fact there) and last year, a replacement meat brand called
Heura put up a billboard that read: _"A meat burger causes more pollution than your car."_
After hours of the billboard being up, the startup was slammed with so many lawsuits from the meat industry that they were forced to take the ad down.
During this process they sparked a conversation, by captured the attention of tier 1 media, and the general public.
OH! I almost forgot about the cocktail
, not sure if that was literal, but hey! Who cares LOL.
I don't drink alcohol anymore, but I discovered that Tanqueray has an alcohol-free version and it's great. I love it with some flavoured tonic water, there's a Hibiscus one I really like + a splash of lemon
!
The Mosquito Tabasco commercial is an all-time favorite. I still remember it, I think it aired in the early 2000s or maybe late 90s? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZubL4mZ5n0
Calm sponsoring the 2020 election was GOLD. Well done to the team at Calm and
@suecho!

MINI Cooper Defy Labels 2016 Campaign - Driving a MINI Cooper for over 10 years, I have heard all of these labels/assumptions about the car, but people do not understand the obsession with the brand until you drive or own one - it's a feeling.

@Kristen Barnes This is also a great campaign that fits into our other conversation about inclusivity in marketing. cc
@Lauren Benner
Great addition, thanks for sharing!
@Sarah Lubecki Oh yes, agree! After research, they also used it for the Olympics that year.

Nike always has some of the most inspirational sports ads, but I loved their "Dream Further" campaign ahead of the 2019 Women's World Cup.
With ongoing conversations in the US about the gender pay gap in soccer happening around the same time, it was a resonate and inspirational showcase of some amazing female athletes!

Another nod to Nike and their "One Day We Won't Need This Day" campaign on International Women's Day.
“One day, we won’t need this day. We won’t need a day to celebrate how far we’ve come. We won’t need a day to prove we’re just as fast or strong or skilled. We won’t need a day to relive the comebacks, the firsts or the titles we’ve won. We won’t need a day to rally behind the ones fighting to change the rules. One day, we won’t need this day at all. Because one day this day will be our every day,”
I love the Estrella Damn commercials that come out every summer. This aired when I first visited Spain, and I always think of that amazing summer when I hear the song!

Here to continue the love for NIKE's brilliant campaigns.
@"Meli Musson" and
@Kara Sheil these campaigns you mentioned reminded me of a new one from them I saw recently, I felt so SEEN.
It's about SUCKING at sports, but the importance of just doing it. So fun.

@Reina Toeda - I enjoy looking at international ad campaigns, especially when they have a US counterpart. They generally seem to have a different take on approach - more of a freedom in some cases? Although there are a few brands here in the US that are pushing the edge on commercials that air later in the evenings. I think there are a couple of razor/shaver brands that are in that category.
