Wrapping Up

Today marks the 12th day of the 12 Days of Holidays here in the Iterable Community, and I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you and learning from you. HUGE Thank you for sharing everything from your opinions on eggnog to your workflows in Iterable and everything in between. I hope you walk away feeling inspired and made some new friends in the process.

To wrap up the last couple of weeks, let’s take a quick moment to reflect on this past year (_I know I know…_) and share what we hope to achieve in 2021.

Looking Back

We are very nearly there - the end of 2020 - and it can’t possibly come soon enough. I know we’re all ready to say buh bye to the year no one wants to remember, but it’s especially important to celebrate the wins from this year, whether it’s launching a success marketing campaign, maybe a promotion, or just simply surviving, let’s share something we’re grateful for or proud of, personal or professional - up to you!

Looking Ahead

Now that we’ve got 2020 out of the way, let’s shift our focus to the future - what are some of your goals for 2021? Are you hoping to go cross-channel? Start using Brand Affinity? Learn a new language?

Let’s Share!

I’ll kick us off by sharing my own- while 2020 was a challenging year in so many ways, having to make hard pivots from in-person to virtual events allowed us to reach so many more customers then we ever would have. We managed to make a quick shift from an in-person Activate conference to Activate Live, a virtual conference, where customers from all over the world could participate in our workshops and attend sessions.

Additionally, we launched our virtual user groups! If you haven’t joined a user group yet, these are meetups exclusively for Iterable customers to chat with each other about how they’re using Iterable. Prior to 2020, these were regional, in-person meetups, but going virtual allowed all of our customers, regardless of location, to join! I really enjoyed hosting these and giving you all the opportunity to learn from each other.

As for 2021 - I will be focusing a lot of my attention on all of you here in the community! My goal is to grow this community, increase engagement, and have it be a space for you to learn, network and chat with your friends here at Iterable.

Your turn!

Hi Sarah! First off, want to say thank you for hosting 12 days of holidays! This has been so much fun and so glad I was able to participate 🙂. I would love to be apart of the virtual user groups, how does one sign up?

Something I am grateful for: My role took a 180 at the start of covid, I went from an extensive background in field marketing to now managing all of digital marketing. I am very grateful too that I have the opportunity to learn about a completely different outlet in marketing.

As for 2021, I really want to focus on learning more able the capabilities Iterable has to offer. I plan to take as many classes as I can on Iterable Academy. And lastly, hopefully learn how to cook lol.
The timing of my sabbatical (Dec 2019) turned into a nightmare when Covid hit! I so thankful that I work in an industry that can be managed remotely and for getting back to work after a much longer than anticipated break.

Looking ahead, I would like to further expand our program in non-email channels such as push, in-app & sms. By incorporating these channels into our touchpoint strategy, I believe we can improve engagement and user sentiment. Which brings me to my second goal which is to build user sentiment into all marketing (and product) efforts. Understanding signals from users and how to use those to save someone about to disengage or convert someone who is close to a purchase as well as monitoring so we can look for continued healthy improvement throughout the year.
@Sonam Patel You're very welcome, it has been such a pleasure! We don't have any virtual user groups scheduled at the moment, but I will definitely keep you and the rest of the community updated as we launch our next ones!

Nice job on the pivot! It's not easy to change roles, especially in the midst of a global pandemic. If there's anything we can do to help, let us know!
2020 was getting off to an amazing start for my email team! We set email revenue records in January and February, and in March I went to the Really Good Emails conference in Greenville, and then... yeah, the wheels fell off. But I am grateful that my company was able to weather the storm and no one was laid off as a result of the pandemic. In fact, we _added_ to our team with @Embrey Hernandez joining!

I wish my 2021 goals were a little different but honestly if I could get back to where we were performing in Jan-Feb of this year, that would be a big win! Beyond that, my team is looking to get even more personalized... both in enriching existing data and using it to make emails more relevant. We do that a lot, but even moreso. The Affinity thing seems super useful too, definitely need to make good use of that in '21.

Looking forward to our first FULL year on Iterable!
@Ryan Glanzer Nothing wrong with pretending 2020 never happened! 😃 We're so happy to have the ConsumerAffairs team on board, if there's anything we can do to help you all get ramped up on Iterable, please don't hesitate to let us know.
@Cora Martin Those are great goals to shoot for! If there's anything we can do to help you go cross-channel this year, we're here to help!
This year I was grateful to move into and renovate my own home and that at work we moved to Iterable! It's already the best ESP I've used and has been the easiest to get up to speed on. Also grateful that @Embrey Hernandez joined our team!

In 2021 I really want to get data tracking squared away on our push notification campaigns and leverage facebook to grow our audience. Looking forward to seeing how we can leverage Brand Affinity as well!
