I’ll start by sharing mine: my mom’s wine cake! Want the recipe? Let me know, I'm sure she wouldn't mind. What’s yours?

@Sarah Lubecki am so interested in that wine cake recipe! Mind sharing?

For me, it's always yorkshire pudding and mulled wine to make things feel truly warm and festive.
@Sarah Lubecki I'll go with Green Bean Casserole and Christmas pudding with custard.
@Sarah Lubecki - I'm also super interested in the wine cake recipe!

Holiday sweets are my fav. Gingerbread, peppermint bark, spice cake... also egg nog.
Wine cake sounds wonderful! My hands-down favourite is my grandma's butterscotch pie. I've been working on re-creating it myself for years, but nothing beats hers!
The very regional northeastern South Dakota holiday fave was chislic... deer meat cubed and fried and seasoned.
Wine cake sounds amazing! Our family loves the pumpkin/ Spice flavored cakes and loaves of bread!!
I love mashed potatoes. For some reason this is the only time of year I eat them.

BTW, the Wine Cake sounds amazing & I would love the recipe!
All kinds of cookies! We always do classics my family has been making for 20+ years and mix in some new ones too!
Christmas cookies. But specifically these guys https://www.tastingtable.com/cook/recipes/italian-rainbow-cookie-recipe
My wife makes assorted cookies with the recipes from Youtube the great thing about them is I never know what to expect from each bite.
My favorite holiday recipe has to be my mom's homemade pound cake with strawberry toppings! YUM
Wine cake?? Sounds good! My favorite is my moms sticky buns.
I'm a big fan of those holiday popcorn treats - they usually come in a tin cylinder and have three sections for caramel, cheese, and regular popcorn
These caramel squares are super-easy and people _love_ them

Growing up Christmas day always featured the best brunch of the year: fried scones, scrambled eggs, and grilled ham around a big, big table with family and friends
I'm not usually into sweets but for some reason I love home-baked holiday treats/cookies.! I love tasting all the family recipes and all the love that comes with it!
I love home baked sweets! So excited to spend my Christmas with my girlfriend's family and her mom is a master baker, cant wait to try her egg tart and baked pumpkin pies.
Always have to go with holiday cookies!
It has to be homemade cheesy mashed potatoes, a honey-glazed ham, and a warm, crispy apple pie! There's nothing quite better than that, for me.
@Sarah Lubecki can I get in on this wine cake recipe exchange?

I probably won't be making my gingerbread cookies this year (decorating them is usually the feature activity of my holiday party) but I'm happy to say prime rib, yorkshire pudding and mashed potatoes will still be on the menu for Christmas dinner!
I roast a lot of whole chickens around the holidays. I really like Samin Nosrat's buttermilk chicken: https://www.saltfatacidheat.com/buttermilkmarinated-roast-chicken

I also like to do a dry brine where I rub the chicken down with salt and herbs and leave it uncovered in the fridge for a day or two. They come out really moist and the skin is super crispy. Highly recommend!
You can't have the holidays around our house without tamales! My mom finally gave me her secret recipe (it only took her 20ish years to trust me with it 😶 ), but they still don't turn out as good as hers!
I have not forgotten or ignored the request for my mom's wine cake recipe! I am going to make it this weekend so I have pictures to show to go along with the recipe!
